No activation fee prop firm: which plans skip the fee
Four of the six FundedHero Futures plans have no activation fee: Hero X, Hero ZERO 1-Step, Hero ZERO 2-Step and Hero Live. The two Hero ONE plans charge a one-time activation fee ($149 on 1-Step, $99 on 2-Step), only after you pass.
What an activation fee is
An activation fee is a one-time charge some prop firms take after you pass an evaluation, before your funded account goes live. It’s separate from the price of the evaluation. Some firms charge it on every plan and some on none. FundedHero Futures offers both, so you can choose how you pay.
FundedHero Futures plans with no activation fee
| Plan | Activation fee | Reset fee | Evaluation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hero X 1-Step | None | $47 to $233, by account size | 1 phase |
| Hero ZERO 1-Step | None | $99 | 1 phase |
| Hero ZERO 2-Step | None | $79 | 2 phases |
| Hero Live | None | No resets | None, instant funding |
| Hero ONE 1-Step | $149, one-time, after you pass | $99 | 1 phase |
| Hero ONE 2-Step | $99, one-time, after you pass | $79 | 2 phases |
Hero ZERO 1-Step and 2-Step
Hero ZERO is the no-activation-fee version of Hero ONE, with the same rules. When you pass, your funded account is ready. 1-Step is one phase with no minimum trading days. 2-Step is two phases with no consistency rule and splits up to 95%.
Hero X
Hero X has no activation fee, so there’s nothing to pay after you pass. It also has no daily drawdown, no consistency rule once funded and a 90% split on every payout.
Hero Live
Hero Live has no evaluation, so there’s nothing to activate. You start funded on day one, with no activation fee. Resets aren’t available on this plan.
How the activation fee works on Hero ONE
- One-time. You pay it once per account, not monthly.
- Only after you pass. If you don’t pass the evaluation, you never pay it.
- Same on every account size. The fee doesn’t rise with a bigger account. Hero ONE 1-Step and Hero ONE 2-Step each have their own fee.
- Nothing else changes. Once activated, your funded account follows exactly the same rules as Hero ZERO at that size.
The fee is $149 on Hero ONE 1-Step and $99 on Hero ONE 2-Step. The Hero ONE 1-Step and Hero ONE 2-Step rules pages always show the current amount.
Hero ONE or Hero ZERO: which costs less?
The only difference between ONE and ZERO is the activation fee. Targets, drawdowns, contract limits, winning days, payout goals and splits all match, and reset fees are the same too. So the choice comes down to cost and timing:
- Hero ZERO: you pay for the evaluation, and that’s it.
- Hero ONE: you pay for the evaluation, then the activation fee only if you pass.
To compare, add the activation fee to the Hero ONE price and set it against Hero ZERO at the same size and version in the plan picker. The more attempts you expect to need, the more the upfront price matters, because the activation fee is only paid once, at the end.
Prices and discounts change, so check the plan picker for current figures rather than relying on an old comparison.
Other fees to know about
- No monthly fees. Futures challenges are a one-time purchase, with no subscription, monthly charge, renewal or expiry date. Your account stays active until you pass it or breach it.
- Resets are optional. You only pay when you choose to reset; resets never happen automatically. Reset fees are flat per reset on Hero ONE and Hero ZERO and depend on account size on Hero X. Funded accounts can be reset for an additional fee. Hero Live has no resets.
- Refunds. There are no refunds once your challenge has started, which means your first login, first trade or any access to the trading account.
- Payout methods. Straight to Broker (our partnered broker, FHX Markets) has no fee. RISE and crypto payouts carry a 5% fee.
