NinjaTrader 8 Setup Guide (FundedHero Connect)

Trade your FundedHero Futures account from NinjaTrader 8. A free add-on called FundedHero Connect copies every trade you place in NinjaTrader to your FundedHero account automatically: entries, exits, stops and targets. Set it up once in about 15 minutes.

Before you start
- A Windows computer (Windows 10 or 11). NinjaTrader 8 does not run on Mac. On a Mac, trade on TradingView instead.
- Your FundedHero Futures username and password: the trading login we emailed you after purchase. Check spam or promotions if you can’t find it.
- Real-time CME data in NinjaTrader. If your NinjaTrader is already connected to another funded account that gives you data, you already have it.
Set up NinjaTrader step by step
- Create your free NinjaTrader account. Go to account.ninjatrader.com/register, enter your email, confirm it, then choose a username and password.
- Download and install NinjaTrader 8. Log in at account.ninjatrader.com, click Download in the left menu and run the installer (Next → Next → Finish). Open NinjaTrader. The main window is called the Control Center; you’ll do everything from there.
- Add CME market data (skip if you already have it). In your NinjaTrader account portal, open the Market Data section and add the CME real-time plan (from about $4 USD a month; NinjaTrader sets the price). Without live data the chart stays empty and the add-on can’t send orders.
- Install FundedHero Connect. Close NinjaTrader. Download the FundedHero Connect installer, right-click the .zip file and choose Extract All, then double-click FundedHeroConnectSetup.exe and follow the steps (Next → Install → Finish). If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. Open NinjaTrader again: FundedHero Connect now appears in the Control Center menu.
- Save your FundedHero login (one time only). Open FundedHero Connect from the Control Center menu. Type your FundedHero Futures Username and Password, tick Save credentials and click save.
- Connect to FundedHero. In the Control Center go to Connections and click FundedHero. The add-on logs in and shows your funded account in the Accounts tab.
- Trade. Open a chart of what you want to trade (for example MNQ) and select the FundedHero account the add-on shows. Trade as usual. Every entry, exit, stop and target is copied to your FundedHero account, and both stay in sync.
Automatic protection
If your account is breached, locked, or hits the daily profit target or daily loss limit, FundedHero Connect stops sending orders straight away and closes your NinjaTrader position by itself, so NinjaTrader matches your FundedHero account. There are no popups; you don’t have to do anything.
Security & privacy
Your login is stored encrypted on your own computer, never in plain text, and is not sent to any outside server. The add-on keeps no logs during normal use.
Troubleshooting

Frequently asked questions
Does it cost anything?
NinjaTrader 8 and FundedHero Connect are free. The only cost is NinjaTrader’s CME data plan (from ~$4/month), and only if you don’t already have data.
Can I use NinjaTrader on a Mac?
No. NinjaTrader 8 is Windows only. On a Mac, trade your account on TradingView.
Can I still use TradingView or Volumetrica?
Yes. NinjaTrader is another way to trade your account. See Trading Platforms.
Does FundedHero Connect trade for me?
No. It only copies the trades you place yourself in NinjaTrader.
Which username and password do I use?
Your FundedHero Futures trading login from the email you got after purchase, not your NinjaTrader login.
